1st grade sight word activities4/23/2024 ![]() ![]() Here’s a look at the other editable activities. You can type in your own words in the pre-set boxes.įor example, Spin and Write can be used as is (picture below) or you can edit the activities for each spin (see above picture). All the Word Lists that are in the pictures are all editable. Some of the games/activities included in this resource are editable. Students roll a die, move that many spaces, and write their word in the color they land on. Roll a Color is another very simple (but fun) way to practice sight words (or spelling words). We always did it with letter formation (you can download the letter template FREE, here), but this school year we will use sight words. If they land on tails, they write the word.Īnother one that he and I did for his homework was TicTacToe. Edward William Dolch, this list has been prepared after reading some children’s books.Several free Dolch sight words worksheets PDFs can be downloaded as knowing Dolch sight word list makes reading easier. If they land on heads, they read the word. I shared a less fancy version of it here – ha! It works just as well! Students simply flip a coin. This one is super simple but fun! Bubs and I played thisa lot during his Kindergarten year for homework. I absolutely love this because it incorporates number sense. They count how many letters are in the word and complete the recording sheet. Students can write their sight words (or spelling words) with a wipe off marker or build them with letter manipulatives. If you’re looking for a quick solution for your students, our first-grade sight word resources are a perfect choice. This can be used as a station or independently using the recording sheet. One of my very favorite activities is Ten Frame Words. They’re so neat to watch! In other news, I updated a very old resource – sight word games! I shared some of these sight words games and activities on IG earlier this week. We’re looking forward to seeing the fireworks tonight. Simply drag the letter combination into the correct space and match the words. I’m going to be one sad Mama with my sidekick away for a few days.
